Module 1- Legal requirements

Duties (employer/employee) under the health and safety at work act 1974 and the management of health and safety at work regulations 1999 (including responsibilities for temporary workers)

The docks regulations 1998 (duties of employers, including provisions of lifting and access)

General safety points: while on foot, failure of lifting equipment, ropes and chains, debris, manual handling, movement of vehicles, water safety, weather, ship movement, dusts, fumes, noise, vibration and lighting, people hazards.
