The
objective of each course is to give delegates all round knowledge
of what to do in the event of a fire. Both full and half-day courses
are available
The subjects
covered include:
What
action to take on discovering a fire
How
to raise the alarm
What
to do when hearing a fire alarm
Who's
responsible for calling the emergency services
The
location of extinguishers and escape routes
Dealing
with disabled persons and evacuation procedures
Specialist
training will be given to highlight particular fire risks and methods
of fire prevention. These include instruction on the colour coding
of fire extinguishers and which type is safe and appropriate to
use depending on the fire source.
Every course
is reinforced with videos and questionnaires to help delegates retain
the information. As part of our comprehensive programme there are
also practical demonstrations during which delegates are able to
participate in extinguishing a number of controlled fires, using
a range of different extinguishers.
