FOUNDATION
IN TELECOM COURSES
The
foundation course is a fifteen-week programme, which is free to
the unemployed and is currently running at Keld House in Thornaby
and at Gateshead College. The course covers all aspects of data
communications and fibre optic installation and testing to gain
industry standard qualifications.
The
qualifications that candidates will receive on successful completion
of the course are an NVQ Level 2, communication technologies infrastructure,
City & Guilds 3666 installation and testing of copper cabling
in an internal environment and City & Guilds 3666 installation
and testing of fibre optic cables in an internal environment.
For
those who are unemployed the course will not affect your benefits
as the course runs for less than sixteen hours a week and is for
