CableCom are working in partnership with Gateshead College to enable energy and utility companies to meet the demands of the UK Smart Meter rollout. This rollout includes installing 53 million meters by 2020. CableCom are providing a range of tailored training solutions and supporting employers to ensure the provision of high quality, highly skilled Smart Meter installers.
Gateshead College have a track record in working with employers and providing bespoke training solutions, responding to the challenges that are presented by new, renewable and emerging technologies. Mick Brophy (Director of Strategic Partnerships, Gateshead College) commented, "On Smart Meter installation training, the College have designed an innovative hub and spoke delivery model, that ensures energy and utility companies have access to a highly skilled workforce with training available nationwide".
